REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 13, 1995-- Strengthening its position in the software development and publishing arena, The 3DO Company today announced that Joseph Ybarra, one of the industry's noted producers of entertainment software, joined the company as Executive Producer and Vice President of Studio 3DO. Ybarra was a co-founder of Electronic Arts and Vice President of Entertainment Software for Mediagenic.
Ybarra brings more than 13 years of industry experience to 3DO, where he will manage the design, development and execution of new Studio 3DO products. His responsibilities include the creation of overall studio strategy, management of all producers, and delivery of software to the market. Already, Studio 3DO has introduced three titles and plans to ship nine by the end of the year. It most recently released Zhadnost: The People's Party and plans to ship the much anticipated Killing Time and BladeForce in the coming months.

During his tenure at Electronic Arts, Ybarra was responsible for hit titles such as Julius Erving and Larry Bird Go One on One, Starflight and M.U.L.E. At Mediagenic he managed the creation of titles for the Nintendo, Sega, and PC platforms. Ybarra also ran his own company, Ybarra Productions, and was Vice President of Software at Creative Insights, where he honed his skills in the production of software titles. Ybarra has held various software management positions at Apple Computer and Digital Equipment Corp.
